Job Title: Test Equipment Engineer

BAE Systems Electronic Systems is seeking a skilled Test Equipment Engineer to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN. As a key member of our Controls and Avionics Solutions business, you will play a critical role in designing, integrating, and maintaining automated test equipment for our electronic controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement hardware test requirements using in-house and/or third-party automated test solutions.
  • Initiate continuous improvement of electronic controls in response to test performance and yields.
  • Design, integrate, maintain, and configure automated test hardware and software.
  • Support repair and maintenance for equipment installed at BAE Systems locations worldwide.
  • Liaise with Design Engineering in Endicott, New York to execute test solutions for new products.
Requirements:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Electronics troubleshooting and instrument familiarity (analog, digital, power, communications).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Experience with electronics test equipment design and integration.
  • Ability to interpret and implement electronic hardware test requirements.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience automating test instrumentation for both test and fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to program in various software environments (e.g., Basic, UNIX, C++, NI LabVIEW, NI Test Stand, Visual Studio, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with hardware design certification standards and testing requirements.
  • Experience working in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with statistical process control techniques and analytical tools (e.g., 6 Sigma).
