Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring loan applications meet company and industry standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in DE (Direct Endorsement), LAPP (Loan Appraisal Processing Program), and SAR (Staff Appraisal Reviewer) to contribute to our mission of providing superior mortgage services.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze loan applications and supporting documents to ensure compliance with company policies and federal regulations.
  • Utilize your DE and LAPP/SAR certification to endorse FHA and VA loans.
  • Make informed decisions on loan approvals and denials based on thorough analysis.
  • Provide detailed feedback to loan officers and processors to ensure the mortgage process runs smoothly.
  • Collaborate with the loan processing team to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the underwriting process.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in policies and regulations that impact the underwriting process.
  • Assist in training and guiding junior underwriters and other team members.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the overall improvement of the underwriting process.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor.
  • DE (Direct Endorsement) and LAPP/SAR certification.
  • Proficiency in underwriting FHA and VA loans.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and guidelines.
  • Proven experience in reviewing and analyzing complex financial documents.
  • Exceptional decision-making skills with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
