Position Overview

Job Title
Facilities Custodial Supervisor

Role Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the custodial operations and mail services within campus facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:
  • Lead and manage the custodial team along with the main campus mailroom operations.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments of custodial and mailroom tasks performed across the campus.
  • Organize and delegate tasks for support personnel to ensure effective maintenance and custodial services.
  • Generate Purchase Orders for the procurement of essential supplies and equipment.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage bidding, purchasing, and inventory control of custodial supplies.
  • Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing and recommending candidates for employment.
  • Perform emergency inspections and repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate to develop solutions for custodial challenges, including job specifications, materials, and cost analysis.
  • Recruit and oversee part-time staff as necessary.
  • Assist in drafting bid specifications for external contractor work.
  • Evaluate and test new cleaning supplies and equipment.

Qualifications Required
A High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in building cleaning, maintenance, or facility management is required.
At least two years of supervisory experience is essential.
Comprehensive knowledge of cleaning practices, maintenance procedures, and facility operations is required.

Physical Requirements
The role may require the ability to operate various office equipment, including computers and telephones. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for performing job functions satisfactorily.

Physical demands may include working in extreme temperatures, bending, crouching, climbing, and safely lifting weights exceeding 75 pounds.

Other Requirements
Successful completion of a background check is mandatory.
A valid driver's license is required, along with a satisfactory driving record.

Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000
