Exciting Opportunity for a Facilities Specialist

The Center for People is pleased to present a rewarding position for a Facilities Specialist, dedicated to enhancing our mission of delivering impactful services and programs to the low-income community. As an essential part of our organization, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, maintenance, and operational efficiency of our facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds to detect maintenance requirements and safety concerns
  • Executing minor repairs and regular maintenance tasks, as well as addressing urgent repair needs
  • Collaborating with external contractors for larger maintenance projects
  • Fostering a safety-oriented environment by keeping abreast of regulations and conducting employee safety training
  • Supporting office relocations, custodial responsibilities, and landscape upkeep

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Self-motivated with keen attention to detail

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience in maintenance or construction, OSHA Certification, and proficiency in operating forklifts are advantageous.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Facilities Specialist position entails physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting heavy items, and working in diverse settings. The role requires manual dexterity, the ability to respond effectively to emergencies, and the capacity to work under challenging conditions.
