Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Clinical Training Supervisor, the RN Clinical Training Specialist is responsible for strategizing, organizing, and facilitating the onboarding process for new clinical personnel within the Integrated Health Department.

This role also involves the planning, development, implementation, and delivery of continuous training programs across various clinical sectors and external partners (such as law enforcement and first responders) to enhance the skill set and knowledge base aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and deliver both in-person and virtual training sessions for LifeWays and Provider Network staff, covering essential topics such as clinical competencies, medication management, healthy living practices, and principles related to psychiatric nursing and co-occurring disorders.

- Assemble onboarding materials for new hires in the Integrated Health Department, including training logs, schedules, competency assessments, and other relevant documentation.

- Provide clinical consultation as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of services within the provider network and internally.

- Monitor and oversee the tracking of all training activities to support the network and staff, identifying trends and formulating improvement plans regarding clinical competencies based on evaluations.

- Collaborate closely with clinical supervisors and the Contracts Management Department to uphold clinical quality and service delivery standards.

- Actively participate in various committees, including but not limited to Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) workgroups and Quality Management committees.

- Maintain and renew various trainer certifications (such as CPR/First Aid and BLS) by completing required training and ensuring compliance with certification standards.

- Develop feedback and evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of training programs, periodically reviewing and reporting on training outcomes, overall success, and return on investment.

- Keep a comprehensive database of training resources and a reference library that includes training videos, literature, and other educational materials.

- Implement and manage 90-day performance reviews for new employees within the Integrated Health Department.

- Conduct ongoing assessments of competencies through chart reviews, observations, and other methods to identify training needs within the organization and the Provider Network.

- Provide constructive feedback to supervisors regarding staff competencies and collaborate on the development of performance enhancement plans as necessary.

- Flexibility to work at multiple sites as required to meet training objectives.

- Assist in preparations for both internal and external audits.
