Position Overview:

The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Vice Presidents of Construction and Construction Managers throughout all phases of construction projects. This position encompasses various responsibilities, including design development, bidding processes, contract management, budget reconciliation, and project closeout.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist construction leadership in all project stages, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Conduct research and manage special projects as assigned within the department.
  • Prepare detailed reports for the Construction Department as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Department to enhance workflow efficiencies.
  • Work closely with construction teams to ensure accurate tracking of budgets and expenditures.
  • Schedule and attend design meetings, documenting discussions and following up on action items.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits and managing associated fees.
  • Review project plans and communicate findings to construction leadership.
  • Support the creation and evaluation of trade-specific scopes of work.
  • Utilize Procore for plan management and bid package creation, ensuring timely communication with subcontractors.
  • Organize and assess subcontractor proposals, presenting findings to leadership.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to maintain accuracy in financial draws and budget adjustments.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure project compliance and progress.
  • Facilitate the processing of change orders and manage submittals effectively.
  • Compile closeout documentation, including As-builts and Certificates of Occupancy.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of relevant experience in the construction sector, demonstrating the following skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications proficiently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with experience in MS Project, Procore, and Bluebeam preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to take initiative on projects.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates should be prepared for exposure to various weather conditions and possess the ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, and operating office equipment.
