Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical office environment. As a member of the Summa Health Medical Group team, the LPN will assist in delivering exceptional patient-focused care, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing nursing care to patients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Participate in care teams to coordinate patient care, communicating effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to HIPAA confidentiality standards.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient preferences and needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to exchange information and assist with patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
  • React calmly and effectively in emergency situations, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Current license to practice practical nursing in the State of Ohio.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a school accepted for candidacy status from an accrediting body.
  • Additional related previous experience may be required for various practices.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and within a team, and self-directed in executing responsibilities.
  • Maintains HIPAA confidentiality, ability to travel between locations as needed within the medical group, and ability to obtain BLS within Summa Health.
  • Must pass yearly clinical skill competencies, required ability to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable disease.
  • Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals in exchanging information and assisting with patient care.
  • Ability to communicate with patients, families, visitors, and communicating representatives in assisting to achieve healthcare goals.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Physical Demands

The LPN will exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects. Ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended periods.

The salary range for this position is $22.39/hr - $26.87/hr, exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location, are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
