Mechanical Project Support Specialist

RQ Construction is a leading player in Southern California's commercial and governmental Design-Build economy, with a national and international presence. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members working on location for each project. Our focus is on fast-track projects in new commercial construction, particularly in the Department of Defense market.

We are seeking a Mechanical Assistant Project Manager (MAPM) to join our Field Operations team in Jacksonville, FL. As a MAPM, you will provide support to the Mechanical Project Manager in managing all aspects and phases of a mechanical construction project. This includes organizing, planning, directing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, and personnel management processes to safely produce quality work within project requirements, budget, and schedule. Local candidates will be given priority, though relocation will be considered.

Compensation: $75-95K per year Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with Match Education & Experience:
  • A high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education required for this position.
  • Courses in project management, construction management, mechanical trade school, BIM, and CADD are preferred.
  • Two or more years of work experience as a MAPM and/or Project Engineer responsible for supporting numerous projects and sizes of at least $5,000,000 (commercial or industrial) are required.
  • Two or more years (or equivalent) of field or trade work experience with mechanical systems are highly desirable; government, military, or large commercial construction experience is preferred.
  • Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Primavera P6) is preferred, with training available.
  • Specific software literacy (BIM) is preferred, with training available.
