Position Overview
The Diversity, Inclusion, & Wellness Coordinator acts as the primary authority on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as well as wellness initiatives within the department. This role involves collaborating with faculty to enhance curricular development through a DEI perspective. The Coordinator will work closely with educators to design and implement wellness and DEI-focused curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess learner needs and create tailored solutions to enhance the educational experience.
- Facilitate individual and group mentoring, leadership training, and community engagement for student groups.
- Oversee school-wide initiatives that promote diversity and wellness principles.
- Continuously evaluate and improve programs to ensure they meet quality standards.
Department Overview
The Admissions and Student Experience Team (AsSET) is dedicated to attracting, selecting, and supporting medical students at UCSF. This team is committed to fostering a sense of belonging and community, ensuring that every student has the resources and support needed to thrive in their educational journey.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Advanced understanding of educational policies, DEI frameworks, and wellness practices in medical education.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to listen and advise.
- Proven interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across diverse groups.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with a track record of leading initiatives from conception to completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in education, student affairs, or a related discipline.
- Experience in administrative analysis and operational research.
- Familiarity with educational technologies that support diverse learning objectives.
