About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Forefront Dermatology. As a Medical Assistant - Mohs Surgery Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our Mohs Surgery team in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Mohs Surgeon during Procedures: Provide support to the Mohs surgeon during procedures, including setup, preparation, and maintenance of a sterile environment.
  • Scheduling and Pre-Certification: Schedule and pre-certify Mohs surgical procedures, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation: Prepare patients for procedures, including obtaining medical and surgical history, accurate lists of medications and allergies, and documenting in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Post-Procedure Care: Provide post-procedure care, including surgical dressing changes and assisting with suture removal.
  • Inventory and Supply Management: Manage inventory and supplies, including ordering and stocking of equipment and materials.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Provide excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with patients, peers, and other departments.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN, CDT, or Surgical Tech in a Dermatology, Mohs Surgery, or other surgical setting is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterilization practices, experience with EHR and Practice Management System, and phlebotomy certification preferred.
