Project Manager - Capital Projects

Mass General Brigham (Enterprise Services) is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing capital projects from design through construction, occupancy, and financial close-out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Manage project teams comprised of facility administration, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Integrate Mass General Brigham design, engineering, and sustainability standards into project design.
  • Manage the bid process to select a construction manager to implement the project.
  • Monitor project progress, reporting potential impacts to schedule, scope, or budget.
  • Coordinate the delivery and installation of project furnishings and equipment.
  • Utilize Mass General Brigham project management systems, including Unifier, PeopleSoft, ProCore, and Primavera.
  • Coordinate financial management of the project budget with the client and Mass General Brigham's Projects Control team.
  • Maintain accurate and current status reports on all projects under the PM's responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or certification in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Five years of experience, most recently as a project manager in an architect or engineer's office, for a construction manager, or as an owner's representative.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, detail-oriented, client-oriented, organized, able to prioritize tasks and time, able to multi-task, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, flexible, good sense of humor, willing to commit what it takes to do a good job.
  • Knowledge of fundamental components of buildings, including structure, enclosure, and mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Experience with Lean project delivery methodology and practice is desirable.

Work Environment:

The position is based at Mass General Brigham's administrative campus at Assembly Row, Somerville, which offers excellent transit access (Orange Line) and employee parking. Remote work is preferred by many Mass General Brigham Project Managers when it does not compromise off-site meeting and job site responsibilities. Each project comes with unique requirements that define the need and frequency of in-person meetings. The position requires travel to consultant's offices in and around Boston and to project sites across Mass General Brigham's service area in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
