Job Summary

The City of Somerville is seeking a highly skilled IT Project Manager to oversee the evaluation, prioritization, planning, budgeting, and execution of new/existing systems initiatives. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in managing complex systems and interfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of the Munis ERP application used across the city
  • Deliver the required system deployment for each phase or stage of the project
  • Ensure quality is achieved as planned for each milestone of the project
  • Monitor actual progress, compare to baseline, and report progress against schedule
  • Manage and oversee projects for completion on time and within budget
  • Report to stakeholders and escalate unresolved issues when necessary
  • Conduct and manage system integrations tests and User Acceptance Tests
  • Monitor systems' performance, availability, reliability, and compliance to technical standards
  • Support users as needed
  • Track and report on issues and problems with the systems and follow-up with the vendor and users on resolution
  • Assign duties and communicate expectations and duties to ensure successful implementation or project completion
  • Provide guidance and direction regarding the creation of goals, action plans, and timelines as they pertain to department projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Previous working knowledge of Tyler Technologies Munis ERP (currently, Accounting, Budgeting, Payables, Contract Management, Purchasing, Billing, Payroll, Human Resources, Collections, Document Management, and Administration) or other ERP applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Product Suite, including Outlook
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following Databases: SQLServer, Oracle, MySQL, Informix, DB2, Filemaker, or MS-Access
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project or other scheduling software is preferred
