Role Summary:
The Environmental Compliance and Safety Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and standards within The IMAGINE Group. This position operates independently to assess and address compliance issues, maintaining the integrity of our policies related to Safety, Security, Environment, Sustainability, and Health. The specialist collaborates with management and staff to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the regulatory compliance program concerning waste management, water discharge, Tier II, SPCC, and Safety Data Sheet obligations.
  • Maintain all necessary environmental permits and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Compile and submit materials for license renewals and updates in a timely manner.
  • Support the maintenance of site regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Hazmat/Environmental Waste regulations.
  • Manage training and documentation for Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) operations.
  • Prepare and submit all required regulatory reports accurately and punctually.
  • Assist in conducting annual safety training and orientation for new employees.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of health and safety policies and programs.
  • Evaluate proposed occupational safety policies for alignment with industry standards and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Monitor resource usage and waste management for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting.
  • Manage employee records related to hiring and terminations.

Customer Compliance:
Collaborate with Account Management to:
  • Facilitate internal and external audits and manage client relationships.
  • Respond to customer audit findings and inquiries.
  • Coordinate all external vendor and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA requirements for food facility registration.
  • Manage UL listing requirements for the site.
  • Address USMCA tariff classification inquiries.
  • Coordinate Repositrak requests and provide necessary information as required.
  • Report compliance status to leadership regarding laws and regulations.
  • Initiate corrective actions for noncompliance issues and develop action plans.

Security Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the site security system, including badge issuance and access control.
  • Support investigations of security incidents through review of video and access control data.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, FDA, AIB, FSC, ISO, GMP, and customer ethical audits.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation:
The national pay range for this position is $55,000 - $73,000 per year, with variations based on geographic location and individual qualifications. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package may include bonuses, commissions, or incentives, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with matching contributions, life insurance, and other voluntary benefits.
