Job Summary

InsideHigherEd is seeking a highly motivated pharmacist to join our team as an oncology pharmacist at our Markey Cancer Center. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make clinical interventions in terms of patient education, clinical pharmacokinetic/anti-coagulation/immunosuppressant monitoring, drug information, cost-effective care analysis, direct patient care, and interacting with pharmacy residents and students.
  • Rotate between inpatient and outpatient infusion settings with duties including chemotherapy order verification, oversight of sterile hazardous compounding in accordance with USP 797/800, and collaboration with nursing and physician colleagues regarding drug therapy administration.
  • Collaborate with the oncology team to provide high-quality patient care and ensure seamless transitions between inpatient and outpatient settings.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an ACPE-accredited school/college of pharmacy.
  • Completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency (or equivalent experience).
  • Eligible for licensure in Kentucky.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PharmD and ASHP PGY1 residency and/or PGY2 specialty residency.
