Little Rock Development Intern

Job Description
This internship provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets of non-profit work, including community events, volunteer recruitment/management, community partner networking/connection, and program development/implementation.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain practical job skills to be successful in a non-profit environment, explore a career-path with a reputable voluntary health/service organization, gain experience in the professional world while learning about board management, and complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
- Supporting programming for the Sweetheart campaign
- Communicating with companies and vendors to keep them on Heart Walk and Heart Ball timelines
- Assisting with pulling reports and data entry
- Updating company historical grids
- Researching company information for prospects
- Volunteer recruitment and management for all core campaigns and cultivation events
- Assisting with Hands-only CPR events
- Planning and day-of support of company kick-offs, rally days, or company fundraising events (gather materials, assist with set up, and provide support and assistance during the event)
- Assisting Development Directors in gathering requested materials from companies as follow-up for company meetings
- Helping with follow-up calls and reaching out to prospects
- Organizing databases and collateral for events
- Helping to find connections to lapsed companies which will include online research
- Assisting administrative staff with tasks such as printing, collating, thank you cards, etc.
Qualifications
- Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, communications, nonprofit fundraising, or event management
- Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising
- BASIC EXPERIENCE WITH GRAPHIC DESIGN ALONG WITH BASIC CANVA EXPERIENCE
- Effective oral, written and presentation communication skills
- Ability to work professionally with colleagues and professional volunteers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities
- Meeting management and event management including set up, outlook invitations, copies, catering, logistics and meeting minutes
- Knowledge of business letter writing format, style, and protocol
- Intermediate use in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi connection & reliable transportation
Compensation & Benefits
$23.00 per hour
