Job Summary

As a key member of the Custodial Services department at the University of Southern Maine, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to oversee custodial duties and responsibilities on both USM Portland and Gorham campuses. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to enforce safety and procedural standards.

Responsibilities
  • Executing custodial duties and responsibilities
  • Enforcing safety and procedural standards
  • Placing orders for supplies
  • Coordinating project steps and crew activities
  • Inspecting work to ensure specifications and standards are met
  • Providing work direction to crew

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) years of custodial- or grounds-related work experience
  • Valid driver's license and passing driving history check
  • Proven ability to follow instructions
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Salary and Benefits

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $21.99 +$0.80 shift differential for shifts between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Additionally, you will receive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance and a 403(b)-retirement plan with employer contribution.
