Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
Safety and Security:
  • Ensure the safety of individuals in custody, staff, and the general public by monitoring and managing facility operations.
Intake and Release Procedures:
  • Assist with the booking and release processes, including conducting searches, collecting data, performing medical screenings, and inventorying personal property.
Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date custody records, logs, reports, and incident documentation.
Public Interaction:
  • Manage phone communications, schedule visits, and foster positive relationships with community stakeholders.
Medical Administration:
  • Distribute medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Rehabilitative Support:
  • Assist in the implementation of educational and counseling programs for individuals in custody.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Possess a valid State issued Driver's License with a clean driving record
Special Requirements:
  • Successful completion of background checks, psychological evaluations, and medical assessments.
  • Obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within three months of hire.
  • Ability to work various shifts as needed.
  • Achieve a minimum 70% pass rate on the written POST (Police Officer Selection Test).

  • This is a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.
  • Background checks are mandatory for employment.
  • Driving responsibilities may be required, necessitating a valid driver's license.
