Are you committed to community safety and justice? The Benton County Sheriff's Office is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Corrections Support Officer. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute positively to the community while working in a law enforcement environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety and Security:
- Ensure the safety of individuals in custody, staff, and the general public by monitoring and managing facility operations.
- Assist with the booking and release processes, including conducting searches, collecting data, performing medical screenings, and inventorying personal property.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date custody records, logs, reports, and incident documentation.
- Manage phone communications, schedule visits, and foster positive relationships with community stakeholders.
- Distribute medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Assist in the implementation of educational and counseling programs for individuals in custody.
- U.S. Citizenship
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Possess a valid State issued Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Successful completion of background checks, psychological evaluations, and medical assessments.
- Obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within three months of hire.
- Ability to work various shifts as needed.
- Achieve a minimum 70% pass rate on the written POST (Police Officer Selection Test).
- This is a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.
- Background checks are mandatory for employment.
- Driving responsibilities may be required, necessitating a valid driver's license.
- Multiple vacancies may be filled through this recruitment process.
- A pool of qualified candidates may be established for future openings.
