JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

The IT Support Technician I is responsible for delivering technical assistance and support to staff utilizing computers and related equipment. This role involves troubleshooting and diagnosing reported issues, gathering data to assess staff needs, and utilizing that information to evaluate system and network requirements. Additionally, the technician will assist in user training for new hardware and software implementations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Receiving, configuring, installing, and supporting computer hardware and peripherals within a networked environment.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and software issues for users.
  • Assisting IT staff with the rollout of network, operating system, and software updates.
  • Utilizing diagnostic tools and software for routine maintenance and upgrades on computers and network hardware.
  • Performing additional departmental duties as assigned by management.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • An Associate's Degree in a computer-related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in computer hardware support and maintenance is required.

Work Environment:

  • Work is typically performed in an office setting, with occasional exposure to casino environments where factors such as secondhand smoke and noise may be present.
  • Employees are frequently required to stand, walk, and lift up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
