Position Overview

JOB SUMMARY: The Behavioral Support Technician (BST) plays a crucial role in delivering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to youth within a residential environment. This position operates under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and collaborates with a diverse team of professionals. The BST is integral in implementing a comprehensive positive behavior support strategy across the campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. The Behavioral Support Technician provides direct behavioral therapy services to youth and conducts training sessions for staff, emphasizing trauma-informed care.

2. The BST assists the BCBA in conducting Preference Assessments, Functional Behavior Assessments, and developing Behavior Intervention Plans.

3. Accurate and timely clinical documentation is a priority for the BST, ensuring compliance with agency standards and regulations.

4. The technician is responsible for entering documentation into the Electronic Health Record and billing systems.

5. A minimum of 80% of the hours worked should be billable.

6. The BST fosters positive interactions with other team members, including therapists, case managers, and educators, to ensure effective service delivery.

7. Training in discrete trial training and naturalistic environment teaching is provided as necessary.

8. The technician conducts various assessments, including VBMAPP, Vineland, and BASC.

9. Data collection, analysis, and summarization are essential functions to monitor treatment progress for individual youth.

10. Participation in treatment plan reviews and staffing meetings is required to contribute to client care discussions.

11. The BST engages in the implementation of campus-wide positive behavior support initiatives.

12. Adherence to the philosophy and practices of the Children's Home Network is expected.

13. Compliance with the 'Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts' is mandatory.

14. The technician supports the application of a multi-tiered positive behavior support framework, including both preventative and intervention strategies.

15. Evidence-based interventions are utilized to deliver innovative ABA therapy to at-risk youth.

16. The BST aids the BCBA in the daily operations of addressing the behavioral needs of clients and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

- Must be a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

PREFERRED:

- Current enrollment as a Medicaid Provider.

Licenses & Certifications:

- Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Proof of job-related transportation and insurance is necessary.

- Successful completion of background checks is required.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

Annual training requirements must be fulfilled, covering topics such as workplace safety, confidentiality, and crisis prevention.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary.

- Capacity to manage sensitive information with discretion.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.

- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- The position involves working in both office and residential settings, with potential community outings.

- High levels of interaction with children and exposure to challenging behaviors may occur.
