Position Overview: The Behavior Support Specialist is dedicated to providing educational and behavioral assistance to individuals with special needs. This role involves collaboration with educational professionals and behavioral experts to meet established learning and behavioral objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the directives of the supervising BCBA/program supervisor/teacher.
  • Deliver behavioral support and interventions to designated clients.
  • Implement ABA-based teaching methodologies.
  • Offer behavior support services tailored to individual needs.
  • Engage in crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Review and execute behavior intervention strategies.
  • Assess and implement behavioral goals outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with established policies.
  • Collect and analyze data efficiently.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards rigorously.
  • Assist clients in developing independent living skills through self-care routines.
  • Apply behavior management techniques as instructed by the supervising educator, including the reinforcement of appropriate behaviors.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Registered or Certified Behavior Technicians must possess the necessary Board or State Certification/Licensure.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Current PPD or Chest X-Ray as required by state or client guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively exchange information with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is essential.
