Senior Mechanical Instrument Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Instrument Engineer to join our Electro-Mechanical Instruments Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the development of cutting-edge guidance applications, working closely with engineers and physicists to design and build next-generation gyroscope, accelerometer, and guidance-aiding sensor prototypes.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop precision instruments to meet the application needs of our clients.
- Collaborate with other engineers to design and develop prototype and production hardware.
- Actively mentor less experienced Hardware Instrument engineers.
- Develop initial processes for the fabrication of custom designed instruments.
- Provide training related to devices to employees, sub-contractors, and/or customers.
- Perform independent research when needed for solving problems.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Applied Physics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
- Requires 5-10 years of experience in Hardware Instrument Engineering or a related field.
- Must be highly self-motivated and thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability and interest in mentoring students and junior engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
