Strategic Sales Director

GumGum is seeking a seasoned sales executive to lead and develop a high-performing sales team in the California market.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in digital advertising sales, with experience managing a team delivering a large book of business.
Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative sales culture and oversee GumGum's West Sales Team, ensuring productivity and inclusivity.
- Talent Development: Recruit, onboard, and develop top sales talent, providing coaching and mentorship.
- Goal Setting: Translate sales strategies into actionable goals, implement performance management frameworks, and coach team members on account-based strategies.
- Innovation: Implement innovative sales methodologies to drive productivity and efficiency.
- Leadership by Example: Exemplify GumGum's values and ethical leadership principles.
Main Objectives:
- Drive Revenue Growth for California: Achieve and exceed revenue targets for the West Region through proactive sales initiatives.
- Build Strategic Partnerships: Develop and nurture relationships with key agency contacts and clients.
- Generate New Business Opportunities: Identify and qualify sales opportunities from marketing leads and proactive prospecting.
- Expand Existing Client Relationships: Upsell current clients on new and existing products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Media or Marketing/Advertising field
- 10+ years of digital advertising sales experience
- Experience managing a team delivering a large book of business ($15M+)
- Proven track record of hitting/exceeding sales targets
- Programmatic experience is a plus
- Proficient in Salesforce, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
We Offer
A competitive base pay range of $215,000 - $244,000 annually, an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan, and depending on the role, participation in a bonus, commission, or stock incentive program.
