Essential Skills Required:

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Duties:
  • Support daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks.
  • Reconcile various general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with accounts payable under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.
  • Organize and file invoices, and manage weekly payable checks.
  • Assist in accounting for fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, project cost tracking, depreciation calculations, and preparation of the fixed asset roll-forward schedule.
  • Support accounts receivable functions as assigned.
  • Contribute to the company's carbon-intensity accounting efforts.
  • Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations.
Payroll Management:
  • Lead the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain precise records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensure timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates, taxes, benefits, and deductions.
  • Monitor paid time off balances and manage leaves of absence.
  • Prepare journal entries related to payroll and benefits.
Investor Relations and Recordkeeping:
  • Assist with investor unit transfers and redemption requests per company policy.
  • Help maintain the investor database and records.
  • Support mailings to investors, including distribution checks and financial updates.
  • Coordinate activities related to the annual shareholder meeting.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information.
  • Get cross-trained and serve as backup for other roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage office supplies inventory.
  • Oversee copier/postage machine and office/mobile phones.
  • Stay updated with professional and technical knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles is necessary.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in typing and data entry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with payroll and accounting software is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of customer service and foster a positive work environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.

Other Important Requirements:

  • Position requires 100% onsite presence.
  • No sponsorships or visa holders; no Corp-to-Corp arrangements.
