Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Oncology Nurse to deliver exceptional patient care in our radiation oncology unit. As a valued member of our team, you will provide top-notch care for patients receiving various forms of radiation therapy following a cancer diagnosis.

About the Role
  • Provide care for patients receiving external beam radiation, including stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and internal radiation sources, such as high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy and low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy.
  • Educate patients and family members on radiation treatments and side effects for a wide range of cancers, including gynecological, skin, prostate, breast, brain, and other cancers.
  • Collaborate with nurses, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, physicists, and radiation oncologists, as well as a team of cancer experts and resources from the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License
  • 1 year of oncology or radiation oncology nursing experience in a clinic and/or acute care hospital setting preferred
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification
  • Current certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred
