Job Summary

The Certification Engineer I is a key member of the certification team at RECARO Aircraft Seating GmbH & Co, responsible for working closely with internal program teams, installers, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and designees to plan and execute large and small-scale certification programs for aircraft seating products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Certification Tasks: Execute assigned certification tasks for portions of larger certification projects as directed by the Lead Engineer or Manager.
  • Familiarize with TSO Certification Process: Develop in-depth knowledge of the TSO certification process for aircraft seating products.
  • Implement Certification Basis: Collaborate with the certification team to implement previously established certification basis.
  • Interface with Internal Customers: Support timely project completion by interfacing with internal customers.
  • Maintain Certification Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date certification records are maintained.
  • Compile Vendor Testing Data: Compile and enter vendor testing data to support final certification.
  • Follow Company Processes: Adhere to internal company processes.
Requirements
  • Education/Experience: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, is required.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills with the ability to establish and maintain schedules from multiple suppliers or on multiple projects.
  • Risk Management Skills: Ability to review current issues/program status and identify and manage project risks.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, a sense of urgency, and sensitivity to deadlines are required.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in CATIA V4 or V5 or a similar program is preferred, as well as experience in MS OFFICE products and the use of matrix parts lists with high variant diversity in SAP.
