About This Opportunity

The Associate Vice President for the Kansas State University Research Foundation is a senior executive role responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational management of the technology transfer and commercialization functions within the institution. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of strategies to effectively transfer research innovations into commercial products and services, fostering partnerships with industry and driving the successful commercialization of intellectual property (IP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for technology transfer and commercialization
  • Oversee the operational management of technology transfer and commercialization functions
  • Foster partnerships with industry and drive the successful commercialization of intellectual property (IP)
  • Play a critical role in enhancing the institution's impact through successful tech transfer activities and advancing its mission of innovation and public service
Requirements
  • Master's Degree
  • Ten years of relevant experience
  • Advanced degree (Ph.D., MBA, or JD) in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Law, Science, Engineering) preferred
  • Ten or more years of experience in technology transfer, commercialization or related fields, with a proven track record of leadership and success in a higher education or research environment
