Residential Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Security Specialist to join our team at Alpha Project for the Homeless. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure and safe environment for our clients, employees, volunteers, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Residential Monitoring: Assess participant needs at admission and exit of the program, assist residents with requests/needs, and document and report incidents and daily activities as instructed.
- Safety and Security: Ensure all participants and visitors are checking in and out of the facility, provide security and safety both onsite and in the neighboring communities, and work collaboratively with the PD and HOT/PERT teams.
- Operations: Assist with janitorial and laundry services, serve meals and provide food pantry support, and communicate and adhere to program and shelter policies and procedures.
- Confidentiality and Reporting: Maintain confidentiality for all participants, interact and work cooperatively with participants, service providers, and staff members, and document and report incidents and daily activities as instructed.
- Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED and a minimum of a combined one (1) year of lived experience and one (1) year of practical job experience preferred.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid, and NARCAN certification preferred.
- Skills: Ability to communicate in person and over the phone, strong written and verbal communication skills, understanding of confidentiality protocols, and ability to organize and prioritize projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner.

- Sitting at a desk for sometimes long and continuous periods.
- Answering or making calls on the telephone for sometimes long and continuous periods.
- Using a keyboard to perform to communicate through written means for sometimes long and continuous periods.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and stooping.
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
- Possible contact with onsite animals/pets.
- Potential for exposure to bodily fluids.
