Nursing Education Faculty Member

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) at Butler University is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time faculty role within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This position is a non-tenure track appointment, with the potential for tenure track eligibility as the nursing program develops. Academic rank will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.

The BSN program is designed to meet the standards set by the Indiana State Board of Nursing and aims for accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The faculty member will play a crucial role in teaching, research, and service activities that align with the expectations of COPHS faculty.

The position includes responsibilities for overseeing the Simulation Lab, which involves the creation, execution, and integration of simulation activities for nursing students to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements. Additionally, the faculty member will manage scheduling, maintenance, and equipment needs for the nursing simulation lab. Academic advising and teaching duties will also be part of the role, tailored to the faculty member's expertise and the needs of the nursing program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Current unencumbered or eligible for Indiana Registered Nursing License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree
  • Experience in teaching within higher education nursing programs
  • Proven interpersonal and group process skills
  • Familiarity with current trends in nursing education and practice
  • Experience managing laboratory and simulation activities
  • Contributions to nursing through research and scholarly work
