Nursing Education Faculty Member

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) at Butler University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty role within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This position is a non-tenure track appointment that may have the potential to transition to tenure track eligibility in the future. The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching, research, and service activities aligned with the expectations of COPHS faculty.

The BSN program is a professional degree initiative that aims to secure approval from the Indiana State Board of Nursing and gain accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). As part of this initiative, the faculty member will play a crucial role in developing and executing simulation activities for nursing students, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

The responsibilities will also include overseeing the nursing simulation lab's scheduling, maintenance, and equipment requirements. Additionally, the faculty member will provide academic advising and teaching based on their expertise and the program's needs. Faculty are expected to demonstrate leadership, participate in departmental committees, collaborate with colleagues, and engage in scholarly activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Current unencumbered or eligible for Indiana Registered Nursing License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree
  • Experience in teaching within higher education nursing programs
  • Proven interpersonal and group process skills
  • Awareness of current trends in nursing education and practice
  • Experience managing laboratory and simulation events
  • Evidence of contributions to nursing through research and scholarly activities
