Faculty Position in Nursing Education

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) at Butler University is seeking applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty role within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This position may have the potential to transition to tenure track status upon the enrollment of the initial nursing cohort. The academic rank will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience at the time of hiring. Faculty members will be involved in teaching, research, and service activities in alignment with COPHS faculty expectations.

The College is expanding its offerings to include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, which is a professional degree aimed at obtaining approval from the Indiana State Board of Nursing and accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

The role of Simulation Lab Coordinator will entail the design, execution, and integration of simulation activities for nursing students to fulfill accreditation requirements. Additionally, this position will manage the scheduling, upkeep, and equipment necessities of the nursing simulation lab. Responsibilities will also include academic advising and teaching within the BSN program, tailored to the faculty member's expertise and the program's needs. Faculty are expected to demonstrate leadership, participate in departmental committees, collaborate with campus stakeholders, and engage in scholarly activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Current unencumbered or eligible for Indiana Registered Nursing License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree
  • Experience in teaching within higher education nursing programs
  • Proven interpersonal and group process skills
  • Awareness of current trends in nursing education and practice
  • Experience managing laboratory, simulation, and interprofessional events
  • Evidence of contributions to nursing through research and scholarly activities
