Cashier Nutrition Services Job Description

The Cashier Nutrition Services is responsible for handling cash and credit transactions at the Hospital cafeteria, ensuring a secure and efficient payment process. This role also involves maintaining the area around the registers and dining area in an appealing and orderly manner.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • May require up to 6 months of customer service experience in a retail environment
Responsibilities
  • Operate cash register and receive payments from customers or employees
  • Ensure accurate ring of proper PLU for sale items and/or accurate barcode scans
  • Maintain proper security of cash at all times
  • Prepare for service by cleaning and maintaining the cafeteria area
  • Inform supervisor of items that need to be reordered
  • Balance cash receipts and money drawer at the end of each shift
  • Provide support to cafeteria operations, including setup, maintaining supplies and products, and assisting in cleanup and closedown
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires the ability to read and write, and knowledge of grammar and arithmetic
  • May require the use of standard office/medical equipment
