Position Overview:

The Healthcare Application Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between system users, operational leaders, and vendors. This position is responsible for the design, development, and enhancement of assigned applications, ensuring they meet the operational and organizational requirements effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Healthcare Application Analyst, you will:

  • Conduct thorough analysis, development, testing, documentation, and implementation of assigned applications and business processes to align with operational and technical needs.
  • Collaborate across various teams to propose innovative solutions to challenges, providing oversight and project management for assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of subject matter expertise, offering support to projects and stakeholders while continuously seeking to enhance your knowledge of the applications and systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve user experience and operational efficiency, representing user needs in system updates and enhancements.
  • Perform detailed process and requirement analysis, including mapping current workflows, gathering specifications, and conducting gap analysis to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Effectively communicate complex design and configuration issues to end users and stakeholders, maintaining relationships with leadership post-engagement.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions by evaluating options and facilitating timely decision-making, recognizing when to pursue quick resolutions.
  • Adhere to organizational standards for system configuration and change management.
  • Exhibit strong technical proficiency in application design and configuration, capable of independently analyzing and configuring applications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, customers, and business partners to ensure alignment and efficiency in processes.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding code changes related to financial and business applications.
  • Work closely with technical teams to identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues impacting application performance.
  • Share industry best practices with operational leaders to enhance overall service delivery.
  • Demonstrate increasing technical knowledge of assigned applications, understanding the relationship between infrastructure and user impact.
  • Serve as a liaison between business operations, IT, and vendors to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Follow strict change management protocols to ensure proper testing and validation of system changes.
  • Deliver consistent and thorough documentation to end users and leadership, fostering effective communication within the team.
  • Regularly assess and refine personal skills and work habits to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve moderate incidents and requests.
  • Uphold high standards for quality in work, providing feedback and oversight on team deliverables.
  • Manage medium complexity projects, collaborating with team members as necessary.
  • Complete assigned training courses and educational materials in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that services provided contribute to the department's primary mission.
  • Escalate issues when service level agreements are not met or vendor actions are insufficient.
  • May require travel and extended hours during critical situations.
  • Assist in training sessions for users and colleagues.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities, demonstrating a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A degree in healthcare, business, or information systems is preferred.
  • Ability to present complex data effectively.
  • Adaptability to change and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in healthcare or information systems.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
  • Relevant certifications in the area of focus are preferred.
  • For Epic Analysts: Certification or proficiency in assigned Epic module is required within the initial months of employment.
