Healthcare Support Specialist

The Healthcare Support Specialist will engage in a variety of tasks and responsibilities that enhance patient care, including precise data management for patient registration and insurance validation. This role requires sound judgment and effective communication with patients, their families, healthcare professionals, insurance entities, and other relevant parties. A professional and compassionate demeanor is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exemplifies the core competencies of OneCHRISTUS: Self-Leadership, Team Leadership, or Executive Leadership.
- Assists healthcare providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, in delivering exceptional medical services.
- Ensures accurate data entry for patient billing, manages patient registrations, and updates patient records as necessary.
- Conducts insurance verification and maintains statistical records.
- Facilitates the scheduling of patient appointments, manages incoming calls, keeps healthcare providers informed of any changes, and communicates patient benefits effectively.
- Performs additional tasks as required.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
At least one year of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) in the relevant state is mandatory.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
