The Credentialed Trainer I is a key member of the Clinical Education team at Christus Health, responsible for delivering high-quality training and support to end-users of our electronic health record system. This role requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Training Delivery: Plan, organize, and teach classes required for the successful implementation and adoption of the electronic health record system.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with end-users, Principal Trainers, and other stakeholders to ensure that training and support are aligned with approved workflows and meet the needs of our customers.
- Classroom Preparation: Ensure that classrooms are organized, clean, and equipped with necessary materials, and that all training materials are accurate and up-to-date.
- End-User Support: Provide on-site support to end-users through rounding, attending associate fairs, and other support activities, and proactively seek out support needs and provide innovative solutions.
- Provisioning and Access: Work with the provisioning team to ensure that associates have completed the necessary training before access is granted to the electronic health record system.
- Workflow and Documentation: Review Visio workflows and articulate the process as it relates to documentation in the EHR, and customize and create job aids as assigned.
- Meetings and Deliverables: Attend meetings, produce deliverables on time, and escalate issues or concerns appropriately.
- Job Shadows and Training: Complete job shadows, deliver training, and support, and build confidence for end-users.
- Advocacy and Escalation: Function as an advocate for end-users by relaying issues or opportunities for improvement to Principal Trainers, and elevate questions, problems, and significant challenges to more senior team members for direction or subject matter expertise.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Test and troubleshoot the Training and build environment, and deliver training delivery including workflow-based and role-specific class content, eLearning, job aids, and Learning Home Dashboards.
- Education: High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
- Experience: One+ year of experience with education, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Preferred Skills: Previous experience as a Credentialed Trainer, End User, Informaticist, Analyst, Logistics Coordinator, or Facilitator for one or more Epic applications, and experience with adult learners, in-person, and virtual training.
- Technical Skills: Experience with multiple full-cycle implementations, post-live support, and quarterly upgrade experience, and experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Learning Management System: Experience with any industry LMS (Learning Management System) is preferred.
- Project Management: Proven track-record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Certification: Achieve designated Epic Credentialed status within 6 months of hire (or as agreed upon with manager).
- Cross-Training: Cross-training in one or more Epic applications with Credentialed status is expected within one year of hire (or as agreed upon with manager).
