Masonicare employs a thorough approach to evaluating market data and establishing competitive salary ranges. Compensation is determined based on experience, with a pay range of $40 - $53 per hour.
Unit Overview:
This role is situated within a 50-bed Behavioral Health Hospital Unit, responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations and directing patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Serve as a role model for nursing staff by fostering professional practice through effective communication, team building, and advocacy.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements in patient care planning and delivery, presenting findings to the Director of Acute and Psychiatric Services.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and sound nursing judgment in patient interactions, modeling these behaviors for the team.
- Manage daily staff assignments, ensuring appropriate delegation based on patient acuity and staff capabilities.
- Act as a liaison among interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive behavioral care plans are developed and maintained.
Additional Duties:
- Share relevant patient information and concerns, documenting and updating treatment plans in accordance with unit policies.
- Coordinate discharge planning with the clinical team and ensure timely communication of patient status during shift changes.
- Conduct daily rounds with unit staff to monitor patient flow and address any operational issues.
- Lead incident reporting and ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Oversee staffing needs to maintain adequate coverage for the unit, addressing any gaps promptly.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required or in progress.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in acute care clinical settings, with knowledge of healthcare regulations and financial aspects preferred.
- Current RN licensure in Connecticut is mandatory.
