Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Operations Specialist will work closely with the Director of Finance to manage a variety of essential financial and payroll functions. This role includes responsibilities such as processing payroll on a semi-monthly basis, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, managing payroll allocations, entering general ledger transactions, reconciling bank and credit card statements, facilitating onboarding for new employees, and producing detailed financial reports. The individual in this position will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations, contributing to the overall mission of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies and regulations.
  • Ensure accuracy in data entry, including verification of figures, postings, and documentation.
  • Handle cash, checks, and vouchers with precision.
  • Perform financial calculations, including amounts due, interest, balances, discounts, and principal.
  • Carry out general administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and managing routine correspondence.
  • Classify, record, and summarize financial data to ensure accurate financial documentation.
  • Compile and verify data from bank accounts, balancing receipts, and processing vendor payments.
  • Complete and submit necessary tax forms, returns, and other government-required documents.
  • Assist in budget monitoring and analysis, preparing reports that compare budgeted figures to actual expenditures.
  • Accurately process payroll information.
  • Input financial data into the organization's database.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position is primarily sedentary but may require occasional filing, typing, and walking. Tasks may involve lifting files and standing as necessary.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Flexible work hours are expected, adhering to a standard of forty (40) hours per week. Extended hours and occasional weekend work may be required based on job demands.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Local travel during business hours is anticipated, with potential for out-of-area travel as needed.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Associate degree is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in software applications, particularly MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office products.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively while managing multiple deadlines.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and integrity.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Mandated Reporter certification.
  • Trauma Informed Care training.
  • LGBTQ+ awareness training.
  • LaSallian Culture of Care (LCC) training.

BACKGROUND CHECKS:

  • Credential verification and state registry clearance.
  • Justice Center clearance.
  • Medical clearance, including TB screening.
  • Valid driver's license.

COMPENSATION: Salary range is $55,000.00 to $60,000.00.
