About the Role

Northern Impact is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Architect to join our team in a Santa Monica or Milwaukee office. As a Senior Project Architect, you will be responsible for leading all phases of design and construction documentation for education, arts, culture, and civic projects. This role requires excellent time management, communication, and technical skills as you work closely with a Senior Designer and Project Manager and a team of consultants developing design concepts into high-quality documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of projects, design philosophy, and provide major input in developing a design and building performance strategy and effectively convey this to assigned team members when appropriate.

• Provide technical design input and responsible for a project's technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination, and quality control efforts during all phases of project work, in close collaboration with Senior Designer.

• Seek creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develop appropriate research and documents to support these solutions.

• Demonstrate strong project team leadership skills with an interest in project management.

• Actively collaborate with and coordinate work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project.

• Contribute to the preparation of design documents and lead the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, delivering complete, accurate, and coordinated project documentation.

• Advance the production of schematic, design development, and construction document drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost, and design intent.

• Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems.

• Review shop drawings, material samples, and CDs for conformance with design.

• Perform construction administration duties (i.e., RFIs, RFPs, change orders, etc.).

• Prepare reports and specifications; review completed reports, plans, cost estimates, and calculations.

• Execute applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.).

• Maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client, and owner presentations as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture; Master's degree preferred

• Architectural Registration required

• LEED accreditation preferred

• 10+ years of experience on small- to large-scale project types

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS Max, SketchUp, and other industry-accepted software as well as expertise with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite products is needed
