About the Role

Northern Impact is seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to join our team in Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Boston, or DC office. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for working on all phases of design and construction documentation for corporate and civic projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of project design philosophy and provide major input in developing a design and building performance strategy.
  • Provide technical design input and lead the technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination, and quality control efforts during all phases of project work.
  • Seek creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develop appropriate research and documents to support these solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong project team leadership skills and actively collaborate with and coordinate work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project.
  • Contribute to the preparation of design documents and lead the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, delivering complete, accurate, and coordinated project documentation.
  • Advance the production of schematic, design development, and construction documents drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost, and design intent.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems.
  • Review shop drawings, material samples, and CDs for conformance with design.
  • Perform construction administration duties, including RFIs, RFPs, change orders, etc.
  • Prepare reports and specifications; review completed reports, plans, cost estimates, and calculations.
  • Execute applicable agency review analysis, including accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.
  • Maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client, and owner presentations as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture; Master's degree preferred.
  • Architectural registration preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • 7-12 years of experience on mid- to large-scale manufacturing project types.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other industry-accepted software, Microsoft Office Suite products is needed.
