Position Summary:
The role of the Travel Systems Operations Specialist focuses on providing comprehensive support for the Defense Travel System (DTS). This includes managing travel logistics, conducting analyses, and overseeing Individually Billed Account (IBA) management. Our services are essential for the effective operation of the DTS and Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) programs, which involve direct communication with government personnel regarding travel-related inquiries, daily management of travel operations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:

  • Deliver DTS administration and support services to various units.
  • Assist the DTS Travel Administrator (DTA) by providing guidance and ensuring adherence to regulations and policies.
  • Facilitate pre-travel arrangements and address discrepancies in travel funding reports.
  • Support mandatory reporting requirements, including DTS Reports and GTCC Delinquency Reports.
  • Conduct audits and research related to the travel program.
  • Analyze reports for trends and communicate findings to the financial department.
  • Verify GTCC program changes and ensure proper charge applications.
  • Assist in reconciling essential documents for various travel roles.
  • Provide monthly updates on policy changes affecting DTS and GTCC management.
  • Prepare draft responses for data requests and assist with audits.
  • Research and document trends related to travel execution and financial planning.
  • Inform relevant personnel about changes in the GTCC program.
  • Compile reports on the reconciliation of key supporting documents.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in DTS and GTCC systems.
  • Strong understanding of JTR, DOD FMR, and travel policies.
  • Familiarity with the integration of DTS and official accounting systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to interpret business process maps and related documentation.
  • U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
