Tehachapi Cement LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Control Manager to lead our dedicated team in ensuring the highest standards of product excellence.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role will be instrumental in shaping our laboratory strategy and driving continuous improvement across all aspects of cement production.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to the quality control team, fostering a culture of precision and accountability.
  • Develop and implement innovative laboratory strategies that align with company objectives and industry best practices.
  • Serve as the technical authority on cement quality, providing in-depth analysis and recommendations to production management.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between production, sales, marketing, and customers, fostering strong relationships built on trust and transparency.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all quality control activities, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and specifications (CalTrans, NSF, ASTM, CSA, AASHTO).
  • Proactively identify potential areas for improvement within the production process, implementing solutions that enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee the calibration and optimization of laboratory equipment (XRF, cross-belt analyzers), guaranteeing accurate and reliable data analysis.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into any quality deviations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage compliance requirements through organizational initiatives, training programs, and ongoing monitoring efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within the cement industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of cement chemistry and production processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of X-ray fluorescence (XRF), spectrophotometry, wet chemical methods, physical testing, and clinker/cement microscopy techniques.
  • In-depth familiarity with relevant ASTM specifications and procedures.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in quality control supervision.
  • Familiarity with SAP software and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages (macros, JavaScript).
