Key Responsibilities:

Are you passionate about ensuring safety while enjoying the water? The JCC Association is seeking part-time Aquatic Safety Supervisors for our indoor, year-round swimming facility.

Work Schedule: Flexible hours available, with operations from Sunday to Saturday.

Compensation: Starting at $15.00 per hour, including a complimentary gym and pool membership.

Core Duties:
  • Advise participants on safe practices and enforce all safety regulations.
  • Perform rescues for individuals in distress and provide first-aid/CPR as necessary.
  • Document incidents accurately and adhere to the protocols outlined in the Staff Manual.
  • Coordinate pool usage according to the schedule and accommodate the needs of members and swim classes.
  • Inspect the facility for cleanliness and monitor pool and hot tub chemical levels every three hours, reporting any anomalies to the Aquatics Director.
  • Conduct routine pool maintenance as directed by the Aquatics Director.
  • Open and close the pool in accordance with shift protocols as specified in the Staff Manual.
  • Assist colleagues as needed.
  • Work during weekends and evenings as required to fulfill scheduling needs.
  • Follow all emergency procedures established by the JCC Association.
  • Participate in mandatory staff training sessions and meetings.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient swimming skills and knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse groups.
  • Understanding of relevant safety practices.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with colleagues and guests.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Requirements:
  • Current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid Certification (training provided by JCC Association).
  • Must be at least 15 years old.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination/booster.
