Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for supporting general building operations and maintenance needs. This role involves inspecting, testing, and performing preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automated temperature control systems to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mechanical work for the installation and upkeep of systems and facilities according to technical specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical components, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently.
  • Manage daily operations of the Energy Management System and Building Automation System, maintaining familiarity with their functions.
  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical spaces and respond to service requests related to HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients regarding maintenance activities and system status.
  • Stay informed about industry safety and code changes through ongoing education.
  • Provide input for work order tracking and assist in project support as needed.
  • Respond to emergency situations, troubleshooting and repairing issues promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness in mechanical and electrical rooms, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Complete tasks in accordance with EMCOR’s standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  • One-year certificate from a technical school or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations related to maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with HVAC codes and regulations is preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as perform tasks that involve standing, walking, and climbing. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and varying weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
