Job Summary

As a Mammography Radiologic Technologist I, you will operate dedicated and specialized mammography radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic images of human breast and associated tissue. You will work under general supervision to formulate and calculate techniques, position patients, and critique radiographic and mammographic images. Your independent judgment will be essential in critiquing images and taking additional views as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate mammography radiographic equipment in a patient care setting to obtain diagnostic quality screening mammography images.
  • Position patients accurately, considering the sensitive nature of the exam and the patient's response to compression.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and colleagues at all times.
  • Participate in scheduling screening and follow-up mammography exams, breast imaging biopsy procedures, and diagnostic breast imaging procedures.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of and ability to perform required mammography quality control for equipment according to state and MSQA requirements.
  • Observe and comply with all applicable policies and procedures, HIPAA requirements, and regulations.
  • Exercise clinical judgment within the scope of practice.
Requirements
  • Minimum six months recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California), Certified Radiologic Technologist - Mammography Certificate (California), and Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Valid and current Registration as a Mammography Radiologic Technologist issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M).
