Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Summary

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Under the supervision of a physician, you will perform a range of diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals. Your expertise will be essential in obtaining high-quality scan images, which will aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient exams and studies, ensuring that all necessary information is obtained and that exams are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform clinical imaging procedures using scanners and scintillation cameras, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters and other equipment, ensuring that radiation safety techniques are followed at all times.
  • Perform in vitro laboratory tests, using a range of equipment and techniques to analyze samples and obtain accurate results.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring that all patient information is up-to-date and secure.
Requirements:
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to work independently, using initiative and judgment to scan patients and perform procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of clinical experience as a CNMT.
