We are currently seeking a Lead Project Manager to oversee a project in the Federal sector. Experience with federal projects and/or USACE is essential.

The Lead Project Manager will be accountable for effectively managing all administrative and field construction operations to meet quality standards while nurturing relationships with all project stakeholders. This role may involve supervising multiple medium-sized projects, a single large project, or a specific scope within a large, complex project. The Project Manager is expected to exhibit leadership by adhering to company standards and policies, achieving collective objectives, mentoring team members, and fostering high morale and commitment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project timelines; identify and address long lead items; adjust project plans as necessary; initiate changes to ensure compliance.
  • Negotiate and finalize change orders, subcontracts, and purchase agreements.
  • Prepare monthly project status updates, client billings, and financial risk evaluations.
  • Identify and propose value engineering and scope reduction opportunities.
  • Ensure the completion and communication of the project safety plan to the project team and subcontractors.
  • Support preconstruction initiatives.
  • Oversee the procurement process.
  • Identify constructability challenges within project designs.
  • Comprehend contract terms, budgets, insurance, bonds, and change orders; ensure compliance, including work progress within scope.
  • Recommend staff development needs, disciplinary actions, job assignments, and promotions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Education: A degree related to the industry is required; a combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: A minimum of five (5) years in construction, including project management experience. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing teams, with successful leadership, training, development, and mentoring experience. NAVFAC experience is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong business acumen, sound judgment, effective communication, solid leadership, client relations, negotiation, project management expertise, comprehensive construction knowledge, decision-making, conflict resolution, adaptability, and analytical skills are critical for a Project Manager.
  • Technology: Candidates should possess experience with or the ability to learn specific project management and scheduling software (e.g., JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, Asta). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory. Training will be provided on company standards.
