Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mentor Bridge Resource Management Specialist to support our Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) training program in San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and conduct Navigation training programs for LCS personnel, including Bridge Resource Management and Ship Handling Fundamentals.
  • Provide senior-level mentorship and training to U.S. Navy Commanding Officers, Surface Warfare Officers, and Enlisted Bridge Navigation Watchstanders.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and maintain Navigation training materials and curriculum.
  • Support the Train to Qualify (T2Q) and Train to Certify (T2C) process, utilizing shore-based trainers and dynamic assessment of watchstanders during integrated scenarios.
  • Develop and deliver complex Navigation training programs, including topics such as Ship Handling Fundamentals, Pilot/CO/OOD Relationship, and Voyage Planning and Emergency Situations.
  • Prepare and review curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides, and conduct training sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of training activities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Commanding Officer of a US Navy Vessel, with operational and C5I systems experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Expert knowledge of Navigation Rules, both International and U.S. Inland.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Surface Ship Navigation Department Organization and Regulations Manual (NAVDORM), standard Navigation commands, Maritime training and education best practices, and U.S. Navy Surface ship maneuvering characteristics for all ship classes.
  • Must possess a detailed understanding of US Navy system architecture and navigation systems across logical, functional, hardware, and software components.
  • Experience with Voyage Management System (VMS)/Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) navigation suite and Advanced Radar Plotting Aid.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and easily readable technical correspondence to document reviews of technical recommendations.
  • Articulate in oral and written presentations, with high organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. or Advanced Degree in a related discipline desired but not required.
  • Experience as a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of CSCS/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus.
