Radiology Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech Lab Technician to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department.
Responsibilities and Requirements- Explaining Procedures to Patients
Our ideal candidate will be able to explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide appropriate educational material.
Transporting Patients and Verifying IdentityThe successful candidate will transport patients to and from clinical areas and verify patient identity according to policies and procedures.
Assisting Technologists with Radiology ExamsOur team member will assist technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning the patient for the procedure.
Following Radiation Safety ProceduresThe Radiology Tech Lab Technician will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patient exposure to unnecessary radiation.
Preparing and Administering Contrast MediaOur ideal candidate will prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Observing Patients During ProceduresThe successful candidate will observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity.
Ensuring High-Quality Images and DocumentsOur team member will ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
Maintaining a Clean and Organized DepartmentThe Radiology Tech Lab Technician will assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, laboratory work areas, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and other areas in the department.
Performing Limited CT ProceduresOur ideal candidate may perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
Collecting and Processing SpecimensThe successful candidate will collect, label, process, and preserve blood, urine, and other specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
Entering and Executing Lab OrdersOur team member will enter, access, and execute lab orders in the appropriate laboratory and electronic medical record system.
Performing Administrative and Clerical DutiesThe Radiology Tech Lab Technician will perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties, including admission activities, insurance verification, order entry processing, and medical record processing.
Working in a Constant State of AlertnessOur ideal candidate will work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Education and Experience- Education
Completion of a radiology certification program is required.
ExperienceNo experience is required, but our ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in radiology and laboratory procedures.
Physical Requirements- Constant Standing and Walking
The Radiology Tech Lab Technician will be required to stand and walk constantly throughout the workday.
Frequent Use of Vision and Depth PerceptionOur ideal candidate will use their vision and depth perception frequently for distances near and far.
Frequent Use of Hearing and SpeechThe successful candidate will use their hearing and speech frequently to share information through oral communication.
Frequent Lifting and CarryingOur team member will be required to lift and carry objects weighing 0-25 lbs frequently.
Occasional Lifting and CarryingThe Radiology Tech Lab Technician may be required to lift and carry objects weighing 25-50 lbs occasionally.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP)
The successful candidate will be required to hold a Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Radiographer, LicensedOur ideal candidate will be required to hold a Radiographer, Licensed certification from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
ARRT-R RadiographyThe Radiology Tech Lab Technician will be required to hold an ARRT-R Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Work Shift and Job TypeThe Radiology Tech Lab Technician will work a Day Shift (United States of America) as an Employee in the 5910000165 Clinic Floats department.
