Job Summary

As a Sous Chef with Compass Group Careers, you will play a key role in the successful operation of our culinary department. You will assist in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and create menus
  • Produce and execute catering events
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts
  • Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training
  • Catering experience a plus
  • High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, and the Internet
  • Ability to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities
  • ServSafe certification highly desirable
