Position: Seasonal Retail Specialist
Company: Five Flavors Herbs, Inc.
Hours: 20-24 hours per week
Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Director of Operations and is managed by the Retail Buyer.
Overview: This part-time position is designed for individuals seeking to contribute a few extra days a week in a natural wellness retail setting. The role involves maintaining store operations and enhancing the shopping experience during peak seasons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with online order processing, including printing pick reports, selecting products, staging orders, and confirming customer details.
- Manage backstock inventory of proprietary blends for retail and online sales, ensuring proper tracking and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including shelves, countertops, and floors.
- Support the Retail Buyer in monitoring inventory levels and identifying low stock items.
- Prepare raw herb jars, create House Tea blends, and assist in maintaining stock levels in the Pharmacy.
- Deliver exceptional customer service both in-person and over the phone, guiding customers in product selection and education.
- Cross-train to provide backup support for the Shipping Coordinator as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience in retail customer service, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems and cash handling.
- A genuine passion for plants and natural healing practices.
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for aesthetics.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with diverse team members.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work during peak holiday seasons.
Preferred:
- Completion of 100 hours of formal herbal training.
- Comprehensive knowledge of herbs and dietary supplements.
- Experience with shipping platforms such as Shippo or Shipstation.
- Familiarity with Latin nomenclature and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbs.
