Position Overview
SAIC is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer to contribute to a vital program in the realm of space operations. This role necessitates an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. The Systems Engineering function is essential in assisting the Government with managing risks, issues, and opportunities across the entire Enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in and/or facilitate risk management boards, overseeing the tracking of technical risks associated with the Enterprise and launch vehicles.
- Act as a liaison to Government system engineering protocols, providing technical support to the Enterprise Management Framework.
- Integrate engineering solutions across the contract, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Deliver critical systems engineering services to government clients, executing the Enterprise Management Framework effectively.
- Engage in all facets of systems engineering, from the initial identification of risks and opportunities to the overarching corporate processes.
- Direct the management of risks, opportunities, and issues that influence corporate-level decisions, providing technical services for System Engineering meetings and status updates.
- Offer technical support to government clients for tracking and evolving launch vehicle capabilities through the EMF process, ensuring mission requirements are met and integrating fleet-wide risks and issues.
- Establish cross-program systems engineering standards within the Enterprise Management Framework.
- Collaborate with the CLSIC team to deliver systems engineering insights to mission integrators and capability managers, enhancing execution and oversight of new initiatives.
- Conduct reviews and provide technical evaluations of significant Systems Engineering documentation.
- Prepare and review technical assessments and presentations for leadership evaluations.
- Generate integrated risk status reports and presentations for weekly staff meetings.
- Develop, prepare, and present documentation while coordinating the execution of all major Systems Engineering Reviews for the Enterprise.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with seven (7) years; or PhD/JD with four (4) years of experience.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in space launch operations.
- At least eight (8) years of experience in government systems engineering.
Required Skills:
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with various government agencies and mission partners.
- In-depth knowledge of the systems engineering process, including risk and opportunity management, and integration of systems engineering issues across programs.
- Familiarity with risk management tools and data-sharing platforms (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint).
SAIC is continuously accepting applications and has no specified deadline.
